The fictional "Port Royal" from the movie set of Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed in Wallilabou Bay.

Wallilabou Bay was one of the major Caribbean locations for all of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films. The tiny bay bustled with hundreds of film crew as it was transformed in to the fictional "Port Royal". Port Royal was supposed to be a port in Jamaica, but much of the movie was shot in St Vincent.

Here area few images of the Port Royal movie set.

The original Port Royal on the south coast of Jamaica was founded by the British in 1655 after taking control of the island from the Spanish. From 1670 to 1692 Port Royal was indeed home to thousands of buccaneers, most notable was Henry Morgan. This was an unruly town and in 1681 the Governor cracked down on the pirates which led to the buccaneers attacking British ships as well as Spanish ships. Most of Port Royal was destroyed by an earthquake and massive tidal wave in 1692.
