The Tobago Cays Marine Park in the St Vincent and Grenadine islands. In 1987 the Fisheries Department of the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines established ten areas of the Grenadine Islands as conservation areas. Two years before the purchase of the Tobago Cays in 1999 from private ownership, the Tobago Cays Marine Park was created in 1997 by enactment of the Tobago Cays Marine Parks Act
